My son and his girlfriend have a new kitten! They live with us so I guess that makes me a grandmother again to Arlo! Thatβs the best kind! I get to play with him then give him back when they come home from work!
This is Sonny the Canary. Sonny was a birthday gift for me a few years ago from my daughter. One day, while I was sitting at my desk watching him I thought he may be lonely so I put a bird feeder in his window and to my surprise he actually likes it!
He will sit on his perch and watch his little visitors. Heβs very vocal too! Singing all day. Not a sing-songy voice but more of a chirping. He is especially loud if I have music on or the TV. You may ask is it annoying? Only sometimes, when Iβm on the phone with a client or early Sunday morning when your trying to sleep late!π
This photo is from my older blog called, I Love My Amazing Animals., probably back 10 years ago and yes, we had alot of dogs and cats! Laying here on the couch is Winston/Lilly/Buffy and Ariel.
We had a good tribe back then! We even had cats and dogs who are missing from this photo! Fun times though!! The vet was always amazed on how they all got along. Buffy (the cattle dog) was my Dads dog and when he died, his friend did not want her so I took her. I could not bear to see her go to a home for lost dogs.. When I think back, I learned that trait from my mother, she owned a kennel and ended up with alot of dogs that people just left and never came back for over the years, weird but true!
I am definitely a country girl that loves to garden, quilt, preserve, hunt, and read. I love my family more than anything in the world. I live with my husband of fifty years. We have a son, daughter, granddaughter and grandson. We live on a 500+ acre farm in Virginia with about 75 cows & bulls, thirty chickens, and three dogs.
This site is about my life as a farmgirl, wife, mother and grandmother. We have a beautiful granddaughter and the cutest grandson. We own two farms in Craig County Virginia, leasing one and raising beef cattle on the other.
