I am definitely a country girl that loves to garden, quilt, preserve, hunt, and read. I love my family more than anything in the world. I live with my husband of fifty years. We have a son, daughter, granddaughter and grandson. We live on a 500+ acre farm in Virginia with about 75 cows & bulls, thirty chickens, and three dogs.

Knock knock. Terribly sorry to bother you. I was looking for the amazing animal lovers' blog and I landed in Twinkland. BOL Don't know what to say. Your title said it all. Wow! My humble thanks for plugging GABE and the book. I'm working really hard to get the word out on GABE so we can all have a better experience. For the record: I do not consider you a shopaholic. I do consider you a serial window-shopper. 🙂 Most importantly, was the Penny you went window shopping, THE Auntie Penny? I did read the last update 🙂 but it cheered me up to picture the three of you …You're wonderfully sweet for posting this! I appreciate it.Twinkie

Thank you Deborah for your kind words. I do know the coons real well. I have lived here 37 years and over that time I have seen and known many many coons. Hundreds!! I have never seen a sick coon with rabies!! In all those years. I have seen one with distemper, that is the only sickness I have seen in all those years. One coon in 37 years. WE took her to the vets and she got over her distemper and lived another 4 years.I have seen a possum with rabies once. I shot the poor thing. I use to live in the woods, but the town has come to me now.
