Hello Friends!

I was thinking tonight how it is always very quiet and peaceful when the sun goes down. Buddy is the only horse that stays out at night. His owner requests that we do that for him.

The best part of nightfall for me is that the work is done and I have a chance to talk to my son and his girlfriend about their day! They are both school teachers and they happen to love their jobs and the kids!! My son happens to be very funny so it is entertaining to listen about his day! He is very good at telling stories!

Around 9:15pm I hear a train go by in town and every now and then we hear coyotes calling out to each other.

Thursday morning I received a call if I wanted the cord wood delivered now and of course I said yes!

I am one happy farmgirl! The wood was stacked today by my son, his girlfriend, my partner and me!

It took only 2 hours to stack the wood! It’s done and I am very happy!! OK fall, we are ready!!

I have a lot of goldenrod in the yard. I think it’s so pretty and reminds me that fall is right around the corner! Autumn is my favorite season!

Our Lilly went to rainbow bridge last night. She was such a good girl. We got her as a kitten and she just turned 15 years old. We have always loved Maine Coon Cats for there special temperament. Although she was deaf she seemed to know what was happening around her all the time. She was always close by and would even walk to the barn with me in the mornings and hang out until I was done.

I’m going to miss this sweet girl. 💕

Hello Friends!

Today we had lots of snapping turtles in the yard. I’m not sure why but they are out and about. This one was a little bit still fisty! I had on big orange gloves and he still bit me, or tried to! So the next step was to use my horse manure pick!

He made it safely to pond!

Now on to the big boy…

This guy was definitely not happy.

This was not a good idea! Do not do this at home!! We ended up putting him in a shovel also and put him in the pond.

Safe and sound. Back in the pond and nobody lost any fingers!
