Casey lived a long and loved life. Casey was 16 years and eight months old. It’s a long time for a Springer. He came to us when he was about two years old as a rescue from upstate New York. We got him because my mother who had Alzheimer’s at the time lost her last Springer and she kept looking for her dog so we decided to find a Springer that looked like her and in comes Casey. He hit the doggie lottery.

My son and I picked him up on a snowy December day and he had bloody paws and inverted eyelashes and living in somebody’s basement. It was a terrible situation, but he was so loved here. My mother truly loved him and I’m sure she was the first person at Rainbow Bridge to greet him. 

He is truly missed and I feel as though Pepper the poodle is very sad. They were besties right from the start.

Sven was the cuddler.

  7. So sorry to read this Mya, Casey was a lovely dog. It hurts like hell when we lose them but we should take comfort in knowing that we gave them their best lives, and I’m sure Casey had a great life with you and your family.

  20. Casey was a true rescue, and he undoubtedly gave as much love as he received – probably more, because that’s how dogs are. A wonderful life – too short, even it is was long for a dog, always too short a time. Godspeed, Casey.
